What is the Savanna?
The Savanna is a grassy ecosystem, which consists mainly of C4 grasses, and trees. It is an open canopy, and it allows sunlight to reach the ground. It is an Arawak word that means land with both grass and trees. Savannas are usually the transition between different biomes such as deserts and forests. Savannas are usually categorised by water availability.
